Can Do Café

In Wye there is a proud, decades-old tradition of taking initiatives to reduce our negative impact on the environment, and there are many people in the community who have, for years, been acting on this as individuals and households.

Building on this, Our Place Wye has set up a Can Do Café in the small Village Hall, every fourth Saturday of the month, from 10am to 12 noon. It’s a place to have a coffee, chat with neighbours and share ideas on what else we could be doing to reduce our carbon footprint and build a more sustainable community.

We’ll be covering everything from how to use less energy and eat more local seasonal food, to reducing our car use and looking at ideas for making our gardens more friendly for wildlife and the environment.

Every Café will also have ‘champions’ with expertise on the issue to answer questions and give advice.

What’s more, there are craft boxes and a recycling challenge to keep the children happy.
