Facebook Group

The Facebook Group was set up by Our Place Wye as part of the Building Buddies project (funded by the National Lottery Awards for All) to combat social isolation and loneliness by keeping the local community informed and connected. Now that the grant monies have been spent, it is paid for by advertising.

It is a closed group and is moderated by several administrators who ensure that the content is relevant and in line with the group rules.

Some benefits of the Facebook Group:

• Helping the community stay connected with local events and other residents
• Facilitating a volunteer system, where offers and requests for help can be posted
• Connecting people through Facebook Messenger
• Increasing membership of local groups and societies through increased awareness and PR
• Alerting the community to incidents such as road blockages, floods, lost and found, train outage, burglaries etc.
• As a forum for airing views on issues affecting the community

Advertising on the Facebook Group

We encourage local events to be posted on the Group as long as they are for charity, or not for profit. Other events deemed newsworthy by the administrators will be allowed.

Any other advertising, apart from Group Sponsors, will be removed.

We are very grateful to our sponsors for their continuing support, which allows Our Place Wye CIC to continue to support existing projects and activities to increase community engagement and to support those who may find life more difficult through poor health, isolation or any other reason.
